In Buddhist temples there is Urabon ceremony in honor of all the dead in Japan and all over the country people perform the round dance called Odori.
According to the tradition, at this time of the year they wore traditional costumes and visited the graves of their ancestors after the ceremony. Besides it, in their memory, the candles in paper lanterns are lit and lowered on the water.
Every year monarch butterflies fly away to the USA and Canada, but when they return, the whole Mexico celebrates Day of the Dead. It is believed that these butterflies are actually the spirits of deceased ancestors. Therefore, they should be met according to the tradition, with flowers, bread, fruit and candies, arranged on altar.
The photos of deceased relatives are also put there, and in the evening it is necessary to light a special candle for the whole night.
